What more information could you possibly get from a poll? The other thread has all the info you need. I guess maybe the summary stats, ie. percentage of people with winter tires and summer tires, percentage with all season tires. But honestly, how helpful is that really?
And yeah, this is in the wrong forum anyways....

Anyways, maybe the same poll+thread in your regional group where at least the winter conditions are comparable would have been more on target. But don't repost this there now, you can just post a link to your thread and have people there respond to it or something since it is a "local" type issue you wanna discuss. Just something for ya to think about so you don't get crapped on in future.... I learned the hard way myself...
and I'm still learning....

and I'm still learning....Actually when I had posted the poll, I hadn't gotten very many good reponses. It wasn't until after the poll went up that I got the real good info on the original post.
I see they've moved the poll for me.
Lesson learned.

whats your problem man? you gotta leave bad comments on people just because you made a dumb newbie mistake? grow up. maybe when you read through the stickys, and pay attention to the diffrent types of fourms we have, and learn your ways then i will respect you and not make comments. otherwise, take it like a man untill you learn the basic rules of posting.

I would agree that perhaps this thread was better suited for the tires and wheels forum, but I also expect there are a lot of people with some good information on this topic in the 5th gen forum that don't browse tires & wheels very often.Anyway, to reply to the original post, similar to somebody in the first thread that is now locked, I am running on Nokian WR's in the winter and still toughing it out on the stock Potenzas in the summer. The Nokians are 205/60-16 size.....these pizza cutters certainly help with traction. The WR's are not a pure "winter" tire, but there is no better tire on the market for all weather conditions.
I think this question depends entirely on where you live.
If it only snows a few days a year, then get the all season.
If you get lots of snow (or you go skiiing/snowboarding a lot), it is probably worth it to buy another set of rims and some snow tires.
Where I live, we get somewhat bad winters and, the town is built on a hill. Snow, ice and bad frost on the roads in the morning make all seasons almost worthless on the hills. I have a set of studded Cooper Weathermaster tires mounted on steel wheels for the winter. When the forecasters predict snow or ice, I just go out to the garage and swap wheels. This also saves my good rims from potential damage. and keeps the mileage low on the soft winter tires/metal studs.

Yeah, I found a set of steel rims with winter tires on from a fellow org member for a very decent price. We usually get a lot of snow but the past few have been sparse. I hope we get blasted this year, I haven't had my cross country skis out in two seasons. We'll see how those Blizaks handle the snow then.
