Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 Any thoughts?
First post on here so forgive me if I sound like a novice....
I have an '03 SE with the stock 17/7'' wheels and it is now time for my first tire replacement. I drive my maxima aggressively, but not out of control and really need something to provide good traction in both cornering and straight-away with low noise and respectable tirewear. Any thoughts on the Goodyear's? I believe it is the successor to F1 D2's and I heard good things about them in the past.
Tire sizes? Stick with stock 225/50/17 or should I go to 235/45/17? I've seen a few posts on this, but it's still a coin flip for me.
Also going to do an Eibach spring/Koni shock conversion all the way around in the near future. It should drop the car slightly (about an 1 1/2), I don't want to go too extreme. You think this is the way to go?
Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance for your thoughts and recommendations!

Just had a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s put on in 235/40 ZR18 size. Don't have anything but positive things to say about them. Awesome in the rain, I had the Bridgestone Potenzas 730s before and thought they were pretty good. These F1s blow them out of the water, very quiet tire for a Z speed rating, great handling in the wet, it takes a VERY deep puddle to even get them to start hydroplaning, but you still feel controlled. Great dry traction, very predictable tire, it gradually gives and not suddenly unlike the RSAs. One thing though, when the outside temp get below 40 degrees, you can tell as with any summer tire, that the traction degrades as it gets colder. Highly recommend!!

Thanks all. I actually went with the Toyo Proxes 4 because the Goodyear F1's are back ordered until March-April of '05. I couldn't find them anywhere!! Also, the proxes are pretty damn nice. Thanks again!
