Winter tires - Summer driving?

I just put 225/55/17 winter tires on my 04 Maxima SE. I reside in Ontario, Canada, and the tires will be fine for the winter, we already have snow on the ground. Mid January, however, I will drive through New York State on my way to Florida, where I will stay until mid March. I really do not have room to carry my 18" original equipment tires with me, but I am concerned about what the warm weather will do to the tires for the 2 months I am in Florida. Any thoughts? Thanks, TomB

Tom,

winter tires can be used in the summer. Yeah, they're a little too soft for summer, but you'll be okay. However, the tread will run out pretty fast though.

I thought winter tires were approximately as hard as all-seasons??

No. They're a softer compound so they stay flexible in cold weather.

You can use snow tires during summer time.

What model tires are these anyway? Some will handle the heat/dry weather better, and some worse, so that would be helpful to know...

The tires I purchased are Cooper Weather Master ST/2, 225/55/17

Anyone know anything about these tires?
