confused on 17's or 18's...

Should I get 17 inch rims or 18 inch rims?
I don't wana drop the car at all, so which ones will look better on a stock suspension maxima? I'm thinking 17's since 18's might raise the car too much?
What do you think

if you go with 18's, then the cost of tires are more expensive than 17's. what size rims and tires do you have right now?

17s if you are staying with stock suspension. I would highly recommend 18s and then a drop, but that is not the path you want to take. Just get 17s and call it a day. 18s will make your car ride way too high and it will look stupid

Going with 18's on stock suspension will magnify the 4x4 look 1,000,000 times. Don't do it!!!

Consider:

Cost (wheels AND tires)
Looks
Ride quality

Changing wheels to 17" or 18" should never actually raise or lower your car one bit if you buy things in the right size. Consult a professional.

Consider handling as well. Ride quality will be worse with 18s vs 17s, the handling might be crisper in some regards, but not an increase that you need on the street, the tradeoff will be having a smaller sidewall, and traction will be no different. Go with the 17s and make sure to get something with good width so you can put a 235 or 245 tire on there. No point in upgrading the size, only to have the same width as stock, and essentially no traction gain.
