I have a question. I currently own a 2001 nissan maxima gle with the stock rims and tires THE RIMS ARE SIZE 16" AND THE TIRES cooper tires are the oem size 16 tires

My friend recently removed His rims and tires from his g35 sedan
THE RIMS ARE SIZE 17" AND THE TIRES ARE GOOD YEAR EAGLE RS-A THE TIRE SIZE IS P215/55/R17

HE WANTS ME TO HAVE THEM FOR FREE!!

WILL I GET A BETTER RIDE AND HANDLING BY HAVING THE 17" WHEELS AND TIRES ???

WILL THEY FIT MY CAR, THEY ARE 5 LUG AS WELL!

 

You'll have better handling, but as for ride quality, that'll go down somewhat. Realize you loose some sidewall height when you go to a bigger rim. That leaves less room for flexing.

Also, I looked up the recommended tire size. It's saying you should have a P215/50/R17. Slightly shorter side wall. You could use the tires that are on those rims already, but there's a possibility of the speedo not coming out right. Depends upon where your speedo sending unit is at.

The only problem after that is lug spacing. Try putting one on and see if it fits.

 

P215/55/R17 that is good tire size, 02-03 GLE came with those size rim and tire. in generall you will not loose any comfort and maybe you wil have better handling. yes they will fit perfectly
