Does lug nut size matter when finding rims?
Someone is trying to sell me some rims that came off his 91 Mazda MX-6:
http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse...._Reference.cfm
Under lug nut it lists: 12mmx1.5
for the maxima:

12mmx1.25
Will this fit, what else do I need to know besides matching the bolt patterns when finding fitment for rims?

I guess not, becuase the I30 has the same lug nut size as the Mazda... what about center bore?
Nissan center bore?: 12mmX1.25

But then again, I heard some Lexus wheels can be put on the max. I really need to know what matters!

12x1.5 and 12x1.25 is referring to the thread pitch
a lug nut from one car wont screw onto the stud of another, but that doesn't necessarily mean the overall size is any different
spacing, center bore and offset are the thigns you need to worry about

i got my rims off of an accord and the center bore wasnt big enough so i used this bit thats for grinding. not sure what its called, then used it with cutting oil and it took like 15 minetes if that to do all 4 rims. but if you dont have a compresser then i could see it being a pain
"But my Mazda mx6 has five logs, bolt pattern: 5x4.5, Lug Size: 12mmX1.5, Hub Size: 59.6, and the Offset: Bolt Pattern 2:5x114.3"
With that information, can I be confident that those rims will fit my 4th gen Maxima>?

you would have to open up the center of the hub on the Mazda wheel to fit .... Nissan has a 66.1mm hub ...Mazda and I think Toyota use the 59.6mm hub... you could grind the Mazda wheel to make it fit???? I would check with a machine shop to see how much it would cost to rebore the center hub on the Mazda wheel if you are going to use them.... at least that way the hub will fit properly and be centered.... as far as the wheel studs.... both 12x1.5 and 12x1.25 are 12mm in diameter the diff is the thread Nissan uses a finer thread than the rest of the world.... no problem just make sure to use the proper lug nuts
I would guess between $25 and $50 a wheel.... the cost will depend on if they have a way to mount the wheel on a machine and rebore the center quickly or not.... if they have to make a "jig" to mount the wheel it will cost more
One thing to look at with lug nuts is whether the contact area where they MEET the wheel has a flat tapered surface or a ROUNDED surface. Obviously if the surface area is rounded, then the lug nut end must the same. I found that out when I was building/racing a CRX Si in SCCA ITA. I had bought some new lugs only to find they were rounded but where the lugs mounted in the wheels were flat tapered.
