235/45/17 pics with lowering springs?

i'm thinking of buying these size tires for my stock 17" maxima wheels. i was wondering if these tires will make the car look higher because the wheel gap is probably gonna be bigger. anyone have pics of 235/45/17 with springs?

235 is wide for stock rims, in terms of safety. The tire may un-seat from the rim with excessive lateral forces. You can do it tho, as many already have.

each car is different but a local member in charlotte put 245/45/17 on his stock 2k2 wheels which are 17X7 just like the 2k/2k1s. he admitted that they were too wide and would not run them on a 7 inch wheel again but ive seen a ton of people running 235/45 on stock 7" with no issues at all. that member never had any issues like the tire unbeading and also constantly takes turns at high speeds and took it to the track. you should be fine with the 235/45 on stock wheels is what im getting at.

Anyone heard of any problems putting 235/45/17's on 7" wide rims? I'd like to go this route, but none of the tire manufacturers "approve" of that size tire on that size rim. My car is strictly a daily driver, so I wouldn't be subjecting them to extreme G's. So, any problems reported w/this combo?

i would hope they recommend a 17" tire for a 17" wheel. i think you meant to quote the width. 17's can come in a few different widths.

i have had 235/45/17's on my car for.... 3 years now without a problem, and i take many turns fast...

there are a few on the org. who spit venom when you tell them you want to put 235/45/17 on the stock rim.... however for everyone one of them there are 10 people who have them and love them....

The overall diamater is very similar so it shouldn't have any real noticeable difference. I too had 235/45-17 tires for awhile. Never had a problem, but I hated the tires (BFGoodrich G-Force KDWS). Went with the size because of the selection of tires was a lot better. Now though, there are more tires in the 225/50-17 so it is just personal preference.
