Help! Bump on tire.

Ok guys here's the story. I have a 2K1 SE w/ 17" Potenzas. The car has 58,000 miles on it and I bought it brand new. I have never rotated my wheels yet. This morning I noticed that my front left tire had a huge bump on the side of it, also there seemed to be a lot of cuts in the tires side. all the other tires are fine. IS this okay to be driving with the bump on the sie of the tire like that? What should I do? Thanks in advance.

thanks... Do you think I should just replace this one tire with a new POTENZA, or should I replace all 4? Like is it bad to have one new wheel, and the rest all old? Isnt this going to effect my allignment somehow? Also is it safe to drive with this bump meanwhile?

replace all 4 tires - craptenza's should have came off your car along time ago! j/k you'll be much happier if you replace all 4 and just find a good set of tires that fits in your budget, it's all what you like - but remember to at least rotate your tires every 6k! peace

okay thanks guys. Any recommendations on a nice set of tires. I need something I can drive in any wheather. Which ones are considered good and not too expensive. Also none of you answered my question on whether or not it is safe to drive right now with this huge bump on the side of my tire. How does something like this even happen? Thanks.

do not drive with the bump on your tire it might make your ses light go on! j/k bro it's cool to drive on it but not for the rest of the year though- most likely a busted belt in your tire, unless your tire has a big pimple! but you should replace em as soon as you can - how about vogue tires? j/k again - maybe try michelin, pirelli, and yokohama for now, check those out to see if they fit your budget - good luck .

Falken Ziex 512 are a good tire for the money. good foul-weather traction as well, unless you have a ton of snow.

I doubt they make them for 17" wheels, but also look at Nitto NT460. They're a Grand Touring tire that I use on the wife's altima.. 60k miles on them and they're about 25% worn!!! They're stable as a mountain goat in the snow as well. I was truely amazed driving it around compared to my Maxima w/ "max performance" tires on it..

okay thanks guys. Ill replace it ASAP. I just need to research some tires. I am looking through this site right now. There are just so many numbers required in buying a tire I dont even know what I need.

I really can not spend around $200 on a tire. And since every1 says that the POTENZA tires that come stock on the max are crap, any1 know if I can get better tires for around $100-150 maybe per tire? Thanks

i have Conti Extreme Contacts on my 00 SE, in 235/45/17's and i love them. very good in the rain and snow, with decent dry traction. if ou have no snow check out Kumho's. my friend got them on his eclipse (ASX's) and he loves them.
