5th Gen Replicas...?

Guy I know bought replica wheels for his Z06 to use as spares. They look identical to his stock wheels and weigh the same as well. So I started thinking if it's a good idea to perhaps invest in 5th gen 17" SE replicas since they're a lot cheaper than buying the originals (plus they're the rims i'm looking for and want). I started looking on ebay and i google'd a few sites and found them in the 500 - 600 range...
What do you guys think? There's this one comapny called www.lakeshorewheelandtire.com and they have they seem to come up most in my google searches. I'm just curious about the quality of these things - is the paint going to chip, will they bend easy?
...or should I just keep waiting for someone on the org to sell theirs...?
Thanks.

Sometimes it's harder to find OEM rims such as the Titanium finish 5th gen rims. I see the replicas on ebay for $480 a set.

Here are three threads (one for Titanium) just from May alone. These are posted quite often.

i would not trust titanium wheels from ebay. go with the classifieds as mentioned. the ones on ebay don't have nissan center caps either. atleast not the ones i've seen.

I bought two 6th gen replicas from Lakeshore and have been very happy. I have a michelin tire running on one of them with no wheel weights. Perfect tire and rim.

I've been swaying towards the OEM ones myself, to be honest, b/c they're original and what not but i'm curious if there's any other people that bought replicas ever for any car... any wheel...
but also, i want flawless or near flawless rims and some of the ones in the classifieds say they have curb rash.

did you buy replicas or repaired/refinished OEMs?

how was the quality of the rim when you compared it to the oe rim? was it an exact copy or did you find any "mistakes?"
also, how's the weight of it compared to the stock ones?

Can't replicate something that was never made. The 5th gen never came with an OEM 18" wheel.
