Is there a reason why 17" 350Z wheels won't fit 5.5 gen?
Is there a reason why 17" 350Z wheels won't fit 5.5 gen?
I hope this is not a repost. I am new here and i really need some help.
I got some stock, OEM 350Z 17" wheels with tires on them for my 2003 Maxima SE. The tires are 235/50/17 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S on the rear and 225/50/17 on front.
I mounted the rear tires and they seem to stick out too much. They barely fit under the fender and here is the sad part !!! -> when i have someone on the back seat and i go over minot road dip/bumps the tire rubs the fender for few seconds.
Why...why is this happening when i see all the time that people put Z 17" wheels on their 4th and 5th gen Maxima???
Does anyone else have this problem with these Z wheels? Am i doing something wrong?
I noticed that the offset on the Z wheels is different (33/30) but i thought that my 2003 Max SE can accomodate this. What should i do? I really like these wheels.
Thanks!

Yes, they will fit fine. The reason they stick out farther is the offset, obviously.
For comparison sake, I have the 18x8 G35 wheels (with 30mm offset) on mine, and no rubbing. BUT, I run 235/40/18 tires....
What you need to do is change to 235/45/17 tires on the back, and you should be fine.
that, or roll the fenders.

I just orderd a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 235/50/17 for stock '03 SE wheels. I know the offset is a little different, but does anyone have any experience with this size on a stock wheel. Will I have any clearence problems on the front or back?
