Less and less impressed with Falken 512's.

Two weeks ago, I installed my OEM wheels which are wrapped in the Falken 512's 225/50/17 for the winter months. I'm beginning to notice that I'm not very happy with these tires any longer. I've only clocked about 20k miles on these tires and there is a lot of tread remaining. When they were new, I was pretty pleased with their performance and "feel". As of these last two weeks, it feels like I'm riding on sponges. My car feels so sloppy, even straight on smooth roads. It's almost to the point where I want to take them off and just mount some Blizzaks or something like that for winter. I know they didn't feel like this last year when I put them on for winter. Not sure if them sitting over the summer created any issues, but I'm not liking it at all. You would have a hard time even realizing that I have aftermarket suspension, and no way can you tell I have a FSTB & RSB. I will say that they do grip pretty well on dry & wet surfaces, but quite an unstable feel overall.

Just thought I'd share.

What would possess you to put them on for the winter in the first place?

The Falkens were purchased two years ago to replace my Potenzas. At that time, my OEM wheels were the only set I had. The Falkens are a good all season tire BTW. After buying my 19's, I have only used the OEM setup for winter.

all i hear about blizzacks is praise. they cost a pretty penny, but i hear they are worth it.

Tim i would seriously change them up considering it hasnt even dropped past 40 degrees here. although i thought falkens were decent.

Halleluyah, you’ve seen the light brother! The most overrated tire ever.

if you only have 20k on the tires they come with a 30k warranty. Take it to any sears auto center or any other autherized falken dealer to get them pro rated so they can give you credit back towards your next purchase.
