Tire question

I'm looking at getting some new tires for my car. Winter is here and I'm looking for some all-season tires. I'm looking at either Toyo Fz4's or Toyo Proxies 4. I don't have the most money and I've seen some for around 110-120 price range. Tire size is 225/40/zr18. I know some of you might say what about putting on your stock rims on for winter, but the tires on my stock rims are basically worn out to nothing. I'd rather spend my money putting new tires on the wheels I have on. My question is, anyone have either of these tires before? How are they? Anyone recommend any other tires? Thanks!

I can't speak of the Toyo FZ4's, but I CAN tell you I think the Proxes 4's are outstanding. I have them since June, and they have been absolutely great on both wet and dry roads. Unbelievable grip and handling. Mine are 235/40/18.

Check out Avon Tech M550 A/S

I have a set on my other car, a Passat GLX. I like them a lot better than the last set of all season Pirellis I had. They have proven to be quiet and handle well in dry and wet. Tirerack has your size for $119 ea. Check out the reviews as well. Good luck.

Go with the Proxes 4, they are far superior to the FZ4 in rain and wet conditions, and also in snow. The FZ4, though technically an "all-season" tire, is more suited to "summer" conditions because of its stiffer sidewalls. Kind of like a better version of the RE92

If you're rolling on 18x7.5 or 18x8 wheels, get the proxes 4 in 235/40/18 (what I use)...you can buy them for a great cost at www.edgeracing.com, which has great customer service, the best prices, and fast shipping.
