We don't get too much snow in TX, but I recently purchased a set of Michelin Exalto's for my car. I had Bridgestone Potenza RE-950's on it for the past 45K and the Michelins give a much better ride and they are quieter. On a positive note, the Bridgestones were excellent in the rain and I got great tread-life out of them as they were still in great condition when I replaced them.
I don't know anyone who has purchased the Goodyear triple-treads, but TireRack.com (surveys) is a good source of information if you're comparison shopping.
good luck...

You're also really comparing "apples to oranges" with respect to these two tires...the GY Triple Treads are classified as a Passenger Car tire and the Exalto's fall into the High Performance category. I expect the GY's would give a much more compliant ride, but they will not provide the "performance" attributes of the Michelins....
Both tires are rated very highly on Tirerack for their respective categories...

Usually the comfort compromise is at the expense of steering wheel response and feedback, and cornering stability. To me, good steering wheel response and feedback, cornering stability and grip are what "compliant" should encompass.
The same goes when people report "handling" which they confuse with overall stability. Again, a tire that "handles" means to me a stable AND grippy tire, not a grippy tire that's lose and comforable at the expense of steering wheel response, feedback and cornering stability.
Do I make sense, or am I way off base? Sorry for hijacking the thread.
