whoo i managed to break my rim (come see)

Well here's the info on the car

3 mechanics said i have too much torque ^__~

2001 Maxima
3.5 bottom end with 3.0 head
Frankencar intake
hotshot headers
race pipe
Greddy EVO 2
Blehmco kit in da front
plus other junk..

the wheels are Axis Hiro 19 x 8.5 245 35 19 up front 275 30 19 in the rear.
The cracked wheel is the Front Passenger.
no potholes or anything... no accident just came out to wash the car and bam see cracks across the spokes. Called up Axis the next day. Great people they will warranty it for me.

I think it was more like poor materials or workmanship on the wheel. Good thing they covered it under warranty.

I doubt you broke the wheel from having too much torque lol. But that sucks, those are nice wheels.

does "too much torque" really mean "hit a pothole" where you live?

People, I though it would be good for everyone else if you could make a post about your broken rims in my thread HERE. This way we will have a list of wheels that are not quite reliable and others will not repeat mistakes of those whose wheels got broken.

Well, I dunno why mine cracked. One morn I saw my tire was flat. It was fine the night before. I would air up the tire and it'd deflate in an hour, so I'm puzzled. The previous day I didn't hit any bumps or potholes or provide any abnormal trauma.

I bought my wheels used, but I highly doubt it was the previous owner. I brought my broke wheel to 2 wheel repair shops, and both said it wasn't repairable, and most likely due to fatigue and prolonged stress.

I read on another site that the way Volks are made, they are to be replaced after a full race season.

Personally, I think it was a defect, but Volk's not responding to my inquiries.

Jae
