Anyone has experience with General tires?

I am looking at these tires: General Tire Exclaim UHP
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....e1=yes&place=0

I want to get size 245-45-17 for my rear 350Z wheels. (30mm offset) (installed on 2003 Maxima)
I have ZERO experience with General tires and i was wondering if anyone had tried them. There are only FEW reviews on tirerack for this model. They are too new.

I really like the Toyo Proxes 4 too but they may be too wide and touch the rear fender under load. Their specs indicate that they are 0.2 inches wider than any other tire with this same size. I am not sure if they will touch the fender or not, plus they will cost me more than the General's from Tirerack. (about $120 difference for a pair)

2 Toyos shipped to my door = $257
2 General UHP Excalaim shipped = $176

What would you do? I will NOT be driving on snow with any of these tires - only dry and rain.

Thanks!

I have the Exclaim's and I love them. I've had them for about 3000 miles and so far so good. I don't have any experience with other brands so I can't help with comparisons. They have excellent dry and wet traction. I figured for the price I couldn't pass up the tires. Plus, General has some type of guarantee that I won't need to exercise.

Be aware that they are quite a bit smaller (and lighter) than the stock Potenzas. I don't know why, but when I pulled the Potenzas off I compared the 2 tires and noticed a big differnce in the height of the tires. No big deal though, it just throws the speedo off a little.
