So i see that my options for toyo tires in the stock size of 225/50/17 are Toyo Proxes 4, TPT, T1R.

anyone running on these tires and have any comments or opinions on them?? I'm mainly looking for the best combo of wet traction and treadwear.

I am currently running toyo proxes 4 in 235-40-18 and I must say they are amazing.
Wet, snow, ice, they grip amazingly
I have only had them for less than a thousand miles.. so can't comment on tread wear.. but they grip amazingly.

No road noise at all.

Greatly recommend them.

www.edgeracing.com was where I got them... they have great service, very fast shipping and best prices around.

thanks, I'm pretty sure the website that I used listed the proxes 4 as a typo for that size. So i'm pretty sure my options are only either TPT or T1R's....any opinions on how good thye are for wet traction

Well the TPT and the T1R are pretty different tires. T1R is a performance oriented tire so treadwear is a secondary or even tertiary concern for that tire. Where as the TPT is marketed as a passenger car tire so treadwear is of more importance. From your sig pic it looks like your car is lowered a pretty good amount, and if you don't have your camber corrected with either camber plates or bolts, you probably would wear through the inside edge of a T1R pretty quickly.

T1-R is supposed to have superior traction in both wet and dry to the tire it is replacing, the T1-S. If it's true that it has superior wet tracting to the T1-S then it is very good in the wet (I had many sets of T1-S and loved them in wet and dry), but like I said, treadwear might not be as high as you want if you have bad camber or toe.

I don't have any experience with TPT but I just read some reviews and they said they have pretty good wet traction and pretty good treadwear.

I'm buying Toyo T1R's, and my guy at Town Fair Tire says they are great tires for the money. I'd go for those...

thanks for you input, oh btw my car is totally back to stock, so i'm not lowered anymore. I also had a set of T1S's on my axis's and they were GREAT tires in the rain for me, so if you say the T1R's are the replacements and are superior then i may just get those instead.

Proxes4...the T1R is better for the track, the Proxes4 is better for all-around driving, and will last longer.
