95 max Tire SIze Question

Ive been running 215/50/17's on my 17inch BSA 7 inch wide rim. Now i sent my dad to get me some tires (maybe a mistake) well he bought 2 new 225/55/17 will i have any issues, will these fit on the front without rubbing? Or even on the back of the car.

Thanks for the replies.

I don't think they will rub if you are not lowered, but it is still possible. If you are lowered, they will most likely rub.

Your speedometer will be off by 5% if you install them on the front, and your car might feel a bit slower with those (regardless where you put them, front/back.)

If it's possible, you are much better off returning those IMO.

thanks DrKlop, they took the tires back and exchanged them for some 215/50/17s. What tire size is recommended for a 17x7 rim? 215/50's are what the tire shop recommended when i purchased my rims a few years back

It is always recommended to keep outer wheel diameter stock. Regarding the thread width, it's usually anywhere between 205 - 225. To find out for sure you can go to manufacturer's website, where it will tell you how wide the rim has to be for every tire size.
