Fixing the Speedometer

Is there any why to fix the speedo and odo on a 6th gen after changing the tire size?

You should be able to have it recalibrated. I think it's a good amount of $$ though.

It's only a + or - few MPH. And the 6th gen is already showing 2 mph faster than its actually going.........so whenever you hit a top speed, just say that you were going anywhere from 120-130!

Good luck though

Isn't it possible to do that with all the generations? I read in an FAQ that there are a couple of sizes (for 17's and 18's) that you can get that won't affect the speedometer. Is this actually true (not that I'm doubting it)?

I can't go 17" and get a performance tire while staying in spec. With 18" it's easier but I don't know if I want to go that route and 245/45 isn't made in all brands.

How big is the difference? i'm going from a 225/50/17 to a 225/45/17 and that equates to about a 3% difference. Thats not worth the trouble of recalibrating IMO. If the difference were 5%+ I'd probably look into or not get that tire size.
