I just sold a set of Alessio 17x7.5 wheels that I had on my 01 Maxima to a fellow with a GS400. He had 16" wheels on his GS400. The tires that I had on my wheels were too large but the wheels fit. He had 225/50x16 and I had 225/50x17. He had to buy smaller diameter tires, but they worked.

I would be more concerned about the offset than the hub bore. GS400 being RWD, the offset is probably closer to 20 than 40.

Hub is different IIRC, you have to mod it to fit.
