Michelin Pilot Sport A/S and the Turanza LS-V

I have a relative who can get 225/50/17 Pilot sports for under $150 a tire. I have been reading reviews and notice that there is a problem with noise and the center tread wearing down.

What are people most recent experiences with the Pilot Sport A/S? I'm in Mass so wet weather traction and snow performance are huge. How much noise increase is there?

In addition, how do they compare to the Turanza LS-V, specifically tread life?

I've got 48K on my Pilot Sport A/S tires. At my last rotation the service guy said it looks like I have about 10K left on them. They have been great so far, but I do get some wheel spin from wet starts lately when I get on them hard. I keep them at about 32psi and no problem with center wear. I also am pretty good at getting them rotated every 7K or so. I did notice they were louder when I first got them, but either they broke in or I got used to them.

I have the A/S, 225/50/17. Pretty quiet with great all weather traction.

However, there are better tires for a lot less money. Kuhmo and Falken come to mind.
