Where do you guys BUY tires??

I've been reading through all the stickies about what tires are popular etc but I'm wondering where you guys get them? I know some retail stores are pricier, and theres a bit more selection on tirerack.com, and are there other good online sites you guys use?

Due to a big mix-up with the dealer I got my car from, it was a customer service issue so I ended up getting 4 free tires, Michelin Pilot MXM4 which have been decent, so I really havent bought tires yet.
Was at firestone the other day getting an inspection and he quoted me $175 a tire for Firestone Firehawk GT Uni-T 50,000 mile, came to $800 after balancing and tax, and I could save a hundred bucks by applying for a firestone credit card, so $700 for 4 tires. I think there's better, plus I dont want another card if I dont have to.

Also, keep in mind that Discounttiredirect has free shipping, so the prices will generally be more than other sites, but they usually have better deals IIRC.

Edge Racing has great customer service and very quick shipping though.

I've used TireRack and Tiresavings.com

LOL, come to think of it, that's all I've ever used. I've never bought tires in a store.

Ditto on the price matching. I've price matched Edge Racing and Discount Tire at local stores. That way, you also get a break on the mounting/balancing. Otherwise, if you buy tires online and want them mounted locally, they'll charge you extra, which negates some of the saving of buying the tires online in the first place. Plus warranty issues are easier to deal with if you buy locally. Just take it back to the store and they'll remount the new tire for free or heavily discounted.

I beg to differ. I looked for proxy 4's on there and they were 112 each and treaddepot was 102. But perhaps cheaper for different tires?!

edgeracing.com.

Prices are low, and lowest on some tires
Shipping is extremely fast (<2 days every time I've ordered from them)

That place is not cheap at all. The falken tires are much more expensive than other places that I have seen.

ER has some pretty good prices, but Discounttiredirect beat 'em marginally on the shipped prices. DTD will only ship to the billing address though.

I had/have a NSX and it's slammed. So I eat rear tires every oil change. You can bet on me shopping around to get the best deal.....and I've used/had good luck with all these vendors:

www.discounttiredirect.com
www.tirerack.com
www.onlinetires.com
www.treaddepot.com

I usually decide on what tire I want, go to all the sites, find the one that has the lowest priced shipped to me, and order.

Oh yeah, sometimes I check Ebay....but most of the time the price(shipping) is higher.

Good luck,
