I've never heard that , just that the nitrogen doesn't excape or something like that ... which I guess if you get your tires at the correct pressure and it stays there, it will help with mileage??

there was a thread on here all about it but it disappeared. the benefits are no moisture, less likely or slower to leak, and doesn't expand/contract as much w/ temp. change. only benefit as far as gas milage would be maintaining correct psi.

how much does this cost? sure "sounds" cool, but not sure if there is a real advantage other than having a lighter wallet

^^he is correct.

btw, when "the shop" puts nitrogen in your tires it's usually not "pure" but about 90% Nitrogen and 10% oxygen.

but unknown to many, regular "air" already is about 75% nitrogen, naturally.

so basically, you're paying extra for a whole lot of nothing. Some racers use pure nitrogen only because it doesn't expand as much when it gets hot, so tire pressure stays more constant.

if you put the responses together, you'd come to the conclusion that THERE IS A BENEFIT..but not MUCH since it's not PURE nitrogen at most place. YOU get BETTER MPG because of Correct Tire pressure.
