Plastic hub rings vs metal hub rings?

When mounting after market wheels, I know hub rings are a must. But is there a big dif between the plastic and metal ones? The cheapest I found online for plastic was $39.99, anyone know a place for cheaper?

Try www.discounttiredirect.com I picked up set of metal ones from them, on one of their ebay auctions for like $15. I have both plastic and metal ones, the metal ones hold up much better, plastic ones get hard and crack over time.

$39.99 is a ripoff. Hit up Discount Tires or Tirerack. They're like $10 or less. Metal are nice but I find em harder to get off after they heat up nice. Oh, and the plastic ones can be filed down easier to fit Enkei that doesn't like the full thickness.

eBay has polycarbonate ones, which they say is better than metal since it does not corrode?

What size do you need? I have 3 sets of plastics sitting around. 1 set is brand new.

Have no idea, planning on getting wheels soon so getting the stuff I need first. I thought all wheel manufacturers make their bore big enough to fit most hubs, so any hub rings made for a Maxima should work with any aftermarket wheels right.

Tomorrow I'll use my caliper to measure the ones I have.

I got metal ones for about $10 from discount tire. Only bad thing about metal rings are that they rust over time and you might have to chisel them off.

If you have a local "Trick Trucks" they sell them. I got mine for $7-8 for a set of 4.
