I personally think its absolutely silly to spend $600-700 per wheel. What a waste of money.....I don't care how light they are....1 pc or 10 pc...

hahaha.....thats rediculous. Axis makes very nice rims and they are excellent quality. Depending on the size...you can get them for around $300. TSW and Ruff Racing are also good.

There are plenty of quality wheels in the $200 range, most are 17s. The price goes up a little when you are looking at 18+ wheels. For under $250 a wheel you can have a 17x8.5 that weighs 16lbs (Enkei RPF1), for just under $200 a wheel you can have a 17x8 that weighs 17lbs (5zigen FN01rc).

My Sport Edition KV5's were well under $200 a rim for 18x8's and I love them. They have taken a big hit and not even a hint of a bend and they tip the scales around 23lbs. They are not the lightest, but they weigh less than my stock 17's, are an inch wider and IMO look better.

I just picked these up for christmas and love them. $1000 shipped from tirerack for 4 18x8 rims with 245/40 General Exclaims.. can't beat that.

Unless you are taking it to a track, I say go with what looks good and doesn't break the bank.

cheap fake rims vs autentic japanese rims have a big difference

first off is the quality.
you need a strong rim so it doesnt bend on high speeds as well as high speed pot holes
lightweight wheels is also for every lb on the wheel is 10lbs on the car.
also if you mark your tire/rim with a pink dot on the tire and the wheel you can see howo much they move on hard braking/turns.

...and you can get all of this from a wheel that doesn't cost you a small fortune to purchase.

Try that with a set of Rotas.

I went with a set of Work VS-XX. The nice thing about a 2 piece wheel is that if anything happens to the lip or spoke section, it's easy to replace one portion of the wheel instead of a whole wheel itself.

There are plenty of good, quality wheels in the $200-300 range, so there's no need to spend $400-500+ if there's a style you like that costs less. My previous car ran SSR Competitions, a strong & light wheel for ~ $300-330 in the 16-17" sizes. A good, light wheel can do wonders for a car since it effects braking, acceleration and handling. Less unsprung weight, the better.
