Opinions please proxes 4 - nitto 555 - bf goodrich kdw2
I had the Proxes 4s for about 30k on my 4th gen in 225/45/17...
GOOD performers in dry and wet conditions. Never tried them in the snow (California)...tread wear isn't too shabby either...I liked them more then my current Kumho SPTs, but I got them for a really good deal....

I have 225/45-17 kdw2's. LOVE THEM. They're the best tires I've owned. They are skinnier than my old sumitomos, yet 8 million times better.
The dry grip is fantastic, wet grip is unbelieveable. Good stability and response.
Wear seems to be average. I should get over 20k on these, and I drive them hard!
My only complaint is the noise. I've kept mine rotated, front to back, since that's all you can do with directional tires, and they still got noisy. They're noisy from about 30mph on up. It's not bad until you get to 55-65mph though.
In the end, the performance greatly outweighs the noise factor, IMO.

From personal experience, I would stay away from Nittos. Proxes 4 have soft sidewall. KWD2s are one of my favorites. They have good tread life and sticky when warmed up. Falken 452s are my other favorites. Very sticky when warmed up but tread life is not as good as KWD2s. I didn't notice any noise issues either.

I just ordered a set of T1Rs...can't wait to compare the two.
T1R for the weight, generally at least a few lbs lighter than other tires. Proxes 4 are decently light as well, although not as light as T1R generally, and don't grip as well (Proxes 4 are all-seasons with higher treadwear rating).
The Nittos have a softer sidewall and are more for drag/straight line traction.
KDW2s are great, I don't think they're too light though. I have heard nothing but good things about them, and as an added little bonus they look pretty cool too.
My buddy had the KDWS stock on his SRT4 and could never get any traction when the were wore out he put on a junk set of goodyears somethings and had better straight line traction so I assumed the KDWS weren't very good. Do to the spinning he got about 15K out of the original set and I think about 10K out of the used goodyears.
