Why won't these 5x114.3 wheels fit on?

I bought some Mille Miglia wheels today and i just did a dry fit with no tires to see what they'd look like and when i went to mount the rim it would not go all the way on. There is a ring inside the wheel that won't fit over my brake caliper. . .does any1 know what this is all about?
Here are some pictures.

Ditch the centering ring and try fitting the wheel again. The lug nuts do the work of holding the wheel centered anyway. Just torque the lug nuts correctly and carefully, and you should be good.

You need to get a set of hubcentric rings for a Nissan to replace the ones you removed. You can try www.discounttiredirect.com they sell quality metal hub rings. Hubcentric wheels are designed to be supported by the hub, the lug nuts just hold the wheel on the hub.

Your are going to need the proper sized centering ring as said above. I ran my car for an hour without them and took the wheels right off until the rings showed up.
