Suggested tire size?

hey guys. i'm not too familiar with the whole tire sizing and what will rub with certain setups.

i just purchased some 350z 18'' 5 spoke wheels. The fronts are 18 X 8.0 and the rear are 18X8.5. i was curious was tire size i should be looking for that i will be safe and not rub or minimal rubbing. the diameter of the wheel/tire combo i have now are 24''. i'm lowered 2.25'' all the way around. i used the tire sizer in this thread but i just wanted to ask some of you pro's out there.

i didn't know whether to go with 235s or 245. maybe a 40 ratio wall?? i'm just not sure. its a 97. lowered 2.25'' and my current tire is 225/50 R16

Thanks guys!

24" is too small, stock diameter is 25.3". 235/40s will get you exactly 25.3" and I wouldn't go wider than that if you're that low and don't want to rub. Rolling fenders would help...

i'd go 225/235-40 combo, but that's me.

well i've got a way to calculate overall size. i'm just wondering like the widest tire i can go without rubbing.

right now i've got about 2'' of wheel gap in the front and 1.5ish in the back. if i went with the 235/40 then it would be about 3/4 inches less wheel gap front and rear. and if i go with the 245/40 then its about an 1'' less wheel gap. i just would like to get as much wheel gap away without rubbing when i turn. those 350z rims have +30 offset in the front and i think +33 offset in the rear. so would 245's rub for sure? i don't mind so much about the speedometer being off...its been off ever since i've had the car.

I am lowered about the same amount as you and have the 350z track wheels. I am running 245/40/18 in the rear and wished I had gone with 235/40/18 cause I rub on the passenger side.
