I'm inclined to put the larger tires in the back but this is coming from a former RWD owner. I'm not sure about FWD cars. As an exampe the Lexus IS-F has P225/40R19 in the front and P255/35R19 in the back, but that's a high performance sports car. But if I remember correctly staggered setups, rear or front, are not a problem. I think if you want more of a touring feel you'll put the larger tire in the back and if you want better traction, the larger one in the front.

I asked this question because I honestly thought this would either screw up my alignment or damage the rack and pin or any other steering part on my Max but as long as I know I can do it for a maybe a couple months until I save up for all 4 new tires, I'm cool.

Also, does tire width mean much? On my front two tires one is 93w and the other is 97w.

well yeah you want more grip to the drive wheels, esp on a higher powered car. an IS-F needs the wider rubber in back to keep you from spinning your rear tires. a FWD car needs the help in front... because the rear wheels do very little work compared to the fronts. on FWD, the front wheels do all the turning AND all the acceleration (and most of the braking).

therefore my official vote is to put the wider tires in front.

You should be ok, depending on what else you have done suspension wise over steer could be an issue.

A33 on COs. I had 245/40/17 on 17x8 +33 and I would rub very slightly against the inner wheel well when I turn full lock. That's about it.

you wont have any problems. as far as general drawbacks, there really is none. the widths of the tires are fairly close so steering will feel very similar. you may feel grip is slightly better since more rubber is on the drive wheels but you're not going to have any problems. with alignment issues youre not going to have any. unless you tinker with your suspension, it wont be altered. when it all comes down to it, theres absolutely nothing to worry about.

for 93W and 97W, those are speed ratings for the tires. i wouldnt worry about that either.

W is the second to highest speed rating and it's usually used on exotics. 270 km/h max with the Ws, 300 km/h max with the Ys. So yeah, you're good.
