I need to know if Bridgestone RE-01R run wider than other brands....from looking at the specs on tirerack, it does not seem like it...but I just want to double check with enthusiasts first

I plan to get a set of 245 wides...I just need to know if it will be okay and not run any wider

steven, I work for Firestone/ Bridgestone currently as manager of tire sales. what are you looking to achieve out of the tire performance wise? I have sets of Re01r's in my shop they do run larger than most tires since they are uhp's BUT what size were you looking for???? 245/??/?? speed rating? there is rim guard on them as well, the flex (100mph tire distortion is designed into the sidewall of the tire so that translates into strong cornering)is minimal giving better handling characterisitics. I will note if you use them as year round tires, they will wear fast since they are a soft compound rubber (1 year or less at best depending upon your driving habits),--- you might be well suited for 960AS pole positions as an alternative to the RE01R's.

I don't know if you will have much luck finding them. Tirerack put them on sale and they went like hot cakes. What tire is on the car now? The RE-01Rs do run wide for the listed size.

I just checked tirerack they have 245/45/17s listed the only other size is 205/45/16 and they have less than 2. If your looking at the 245/45/17s I would order them soon.
