Wheels Question

The factory chrome 18's are corroding on my '06 Max so I need to buy new ones. I have never bought aftermarket wheels before so I don't know what to look for.

What is the difference, other than style, of an inexpensive ($150 - $200) wheel & an expensive ($500 - $700) wheel? Some of the more expensive ones also seem to be heavier which I don't think is a plus.

Any of you who have bought a lot of wheels have thoughts on this? Thanks.

Search Craigslist.

5x114.3 (5x4.5) bolt pattern.

+32 - +40ish offset for best fitment.

If the more expensive wheels your looking at are heavier, you're doing it wrong.

Most of the expensive wheels cost more because they're lighter, stronger. IE: cast, forged, etc.

Where are you located?

go with 20's. I had 18's for about 4 1/2 years then switched to 20's. look much better and ride just about the same. I have DIABLOS which I bought off craigslist for 900. rubber was too big so I bought new tires for 560 total. so about 1500 for everything and I love em. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/19-IN...Q5fAccessories this is them but these are 19's vice 20's.

Personally, I'd look for the lightest 18" wheels you can afford. Performance over bling any day for me.

Wheels

If I hadn't just bought new tires I would consider upping the rim size. I just can't see replacing a new set of Pilot Sport AS's. The wife has 20's on her CX-9 and everyone notices them. It's funny, people who are totally not car people comment on them all the time. They do ride nice.

Thanks for the reply's to all.

Merry Xmas.

You've got the tires...

Sell your stock wheels and profit.
