hey guys, I was wondering if a 18x9.5 with a 15+ and 225/45 tires would rub on my 5th gen. On progress right now but considering coils! Im just worried about the front rubbing on the inside. Im going to roll all the fenders. Thanks!

good question i want to do a 18x9.5 setup too but its hard to find the right rim style/design + offset size for a good setup. what kind of rims are u getting?

 

I would say +30 is the lowest I would go with that width. 225s on a 9.5 is stupid.

 

I've seen 9.5 widths done with 35+ and 25+ offsets. 15+ is just too much it will poke and rub the inner fender plastic like crazy. 225 is a lot of stretch but do able. I wouldn't got with less than 235, 245 to be on the safe side.

 

They will fit (the back) just fine according to the calculator. My setup has 152mm of back space vs the setup that you want which is 148mm. I still have plenty of room to go so I'm pretty sure that extra 4mm will not hurt anything. However though, my wheels are 17s. I would say go for it. You'll never know if you dont try and you can always sell it back. But just get maybe like 235s for the 9.5 width. Hope it helps and good luck!

The rim will poke a good amount with that setup In the front. The tire will probably barely tuck under the fender with that kinda stretch. If you plan on getting the fender anywhere close to the tire, your gonna have to camber the hell out of it. Unless you like the sound of shredding tires...

For reference, I'm running a 8.5" +15 in the front

If you really wanna try it though, I recomend running a 225/40 instead of the 225/45, just to help with clearance.

 

Thanks everyone, the rims im gonna get...well that will be a secret for now lol. The reason for the 225/45 is because im in Jersey and the roads out here can be horrendous. So thats why I am considering the 225/45 over the 225/40. Back on my old 18's i ran a 235/40 and I would constantly bend my rims so I know DEFINITELY that I will f*** these rims up if I do a 225/40. UNLESS, I stick with the Progress Drop?? input please....

OH another question if you guys dont mind, I have 15mm spacers on the rears and when I had my brakes done last year I couldnt get them off, they were rusted/seized on the rotor. I took it to nissan to change the rotors and pads and they got it off by using mineral oil. Mineral oil is pretty much baby oil isnt it?! You guys have a technic of getting it off because I know I will need to if I purchase these rims.

hey for some reason i cant make a new thread but i NEED to know if i made a mistake on these tires i bought.... will a 235/45/17 fit on a 5th gen 2003 maxima without rubbing? the car is stock.

They'll be fine, no rubbing on mine. I have 235-45 on OEM SE's and am lowered w/spacers.

 

no they should not rub at all i had 245/45/18 and had no rubbing w/ everything stock so with 17's your golden

 

how about on 18" should be the same with no problem right??

 

Need size of tire before any of us can answer that. If it's still the same 235/45 ... maybe, depending on the tire.

I've had 2 instances where I was using the same size of tire, but different brand of tires, and one rubbed, while that other did not.
