Hey guys check out these pics and let me know if you think the wheel can be repaired.

The tire when filled also balloons out above the effected area.

I know I'll need a new tire. Can my wheel be salvaged? Where do you recommend I go for this sort of work?

I'm curious because I just put lower profile tires on with new wheels and I live in PA. What tire pressure were you running and how fast were you going?

I gotta say when I first saw that pic I thought for sure that wheel was done, but tigersharkdude seems much more optimistic. Goes to show you what I know about wheels.

Where are you located? That may help get you specific shops instead of "go to a wheel shop".

I had a forged centerline wheel that bent like that on the inside area only and it was not fixable. I checked local shops first and I even shipped it to a place matt93se recommended and they shipped it back saying they couldn't fix it.

I don't know if this was because mine was forged, though.

Yours looks worse than mine and yours looks like the entire "barrel" of the wheel is bent, not just the outer lip portions.

You should definitely check around or send pictures to places that specialize in wheel repair. It might even be cheaper to just get a replacement.

Looks like the entire barrel is out of true... I'm no expert but that's pretty hard to bang it back to shape. If it was just the lip then its a whole different story.

This type of damage is why I think I'll be going with 3pc rims - so if I bend it out of shape I just replace the 'barrel' ...

I think on your rim it may be fixable if you find the right shop to work on it.
