As mentionned, I used the search button to find some info about this but couldn't find anything relevant.
My titanium wheels have a few scratches and minor curb rash, they also have black corrosion marks near the center, which I think will go off with a green pad. But I fear for the clear and paint.
Would a shop be able to pull it off ? I read there a special color that Nissan still to this day did not reveal.
Can someone clear me up on this ?

 

I have a 03 maxima TE and my paint is Sheer silver (ky0) My TE rims are my winter rims and since they are almost 10 years old i have curb rash as well. I have had pretty good success using one of those paint stick/pens to touch up the rims sometimes, the color match is pretty damn good. Maybe that with one of those clear coat pens that look like a highlighter would be a cheap and easy fix. I cant report on the lasting effect of the paint, i only did it once when i first got my max, I put more effort into cleaning my summer rims.

 

I just today contacted Nissan about these wheels color so I could touch up mine(few chips that are black underneath). i was told they are powdercoated and they have no idea what color they are. It's driving me crazy! I want to touch them up and stop them from further chipping. If anyone finds out-spread the word. Scottygill, what color touch-up did you use? Perfect match?

 

Same man, my TE wheels are beyond messed up. A ton of curbing. Instead of messed up wheels, I'm just gonna try to refinish all 4.

its a 10 dollar bottle of paint and is worth the money. i had to order mine from the nissan dealership as the color is not common enough to be carried by advanced auto / auto zone. price was the same

 

And it matched perfectly on your titanium wheels ? can we see pics if possible ?

Sure, the rain finally cleared up, so i went out and did some touch up and here are the before and after pics. Paint code is ky0 (zero) It turned out even better than i remember! Cant beat the fix for the price. Its either this or resurface i bet (I didnt watch video) If you look, its noticable, but the curvature of the lip can hide the paint in most lighting

no offense, but that looks worse imo than if you just left it alone. i have the same wheels with some curb rash and would'nt do that. kinda the same as when you use touch-up paint on the body.

 

none taken, youre simply wrong. Wheel looks MUCH better having been touched up. You eye isnt drawn to the wheel finish "inconsistency" like touch up spots on a painted panel. You dont even notice that its been fixed or that it was every really rashed unless you are looking for it. How the hell does it look worse...?

 

Wouldn't do it if I were to sell my wheels, that would just be sneaky, but to sell an old car, I don't think a 3k $ car with retouched wheels would really bother.

i dont have the same damage as you do, my wheels have damage inside the spokes a little bit which is why i would'nt try that. my curb rash is minimal compared to yours.
