I got a steal on a pair of 215/55/17 on some Brisgestone WS70s for 300 dollars still new from a friend now I called the shop an asked them if they could do it they said they recommended not to because it will be "unbalanced" because the size is "unnormal" is this true? I want to mount these on my 00 stock 17s. Anyone run this size

 

that exact size was on my 5th gen wheels when i got them. You'll be fine. I have them on my 4th gen now with S-techs and they almost tuck but dont scrub.

 

they're idiots. tell them to shut up and mount the tires. that's rubbish. they may not be the stock size but they are certainly within the normal range of tire sizes people install on these cars every day, and the notion that they would be "unbalanced" simply because they aren't the exact size as the original tires is totally ludicrous.

 

They kept insisting that I don't an an argument sparked then they apologized an said they would, I just took my tires and left and plan to do them tomorrow at town fair tire...Whatever even though were getting 2-5 inches tonight and i have 20% tread, Idc They didn't deserve my business
