Is it alright to use hub rings on "lug centric" wheels?

The place I'm buying my new wheels from told me I don't need hub rings because they are lug centric and will perfectly center when I tighten down the lugs. I've never not used hub rings...does this make any sense? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Hm well apparently you technically won't need them but it wouldn't hurt to get them. Hub rings are cheap as ****.

i got mine for $8.....technically if you slowly tighten all the lug nuts in the star pattern the wheel will align itself...but if a shop just throws them on w thier gun it can be off centered

So, using hub rings can't hurt, right? I guess thats the main thing I was asking.

All wheels are "lugcentric". Your wheel Guy is being lazy.

All wheels with cone seat technically can be centered using the lugs but the hub centric ring makes it fool proof. If you have them - use them.
