Rim specs are 18x9 35 mm offset
Tire specs are 225/40/18

Any ideas on if these are a good idea for the Maxima?

Those are great wheels imo, and I dont see why that setup would not work, am running 18x8.5 et16 with 225/40R18 all I had to do was roll my fenders ;-) hope that helped you...

255/35/18 would be a better fitting tire to the wheel.
