Right now my 2 fronts have 5/32, while the rear have 6/32. I'll be rotating them soon, so my fronts will have the 6/32s. Would I be able to get another 6-8k out of them? This is on the factory Goodyear RSAs (245/45/18). I live in the south so winter weather isn't an issue. I'm not sure how much longer I'm keeping this car, so I'd rather not invest in new tires and/or wheels, but I certainly don't want to risk my life, either.

You have used 2/3 of the tire life. It will depend on your driving style, but you should be able to figure out what you have left.

The tread depth, or tire grooves are there for adverse weather, rain, snow, etc. The perfect tire in dry weather is grooveless. So if you don't expect to encounter any bad weather, you should be ok for quite some time. If you encounter a freak rain storm with your tires nearly grooveless, drive veeeerrryyy slowly
