I wasn't getting any help over in the other section because I guess people don't really check there so i'm gonna post it here...

Hello fellow org members. I've decided to take on the task of installing a AutoPage RS 1000 on my 1997 Nissan Maxima SE 5 Speed. It comes with remote start, remote trunk release, shock sensor, immobilizer & I also want to add a proximity sensor to it. I pretty much understand everything because the member I bought it off from kept all the wires connected kinda. Now on to some of my questions.

Starting out simple...How would I wire the proximity sensor into the unit? I don't have any extra inputs so i'm guessing I have to wire it in with the shock sensor?

The immobilizer is a "Directed 556u" I know my key isn't chipped as I did say it was a 97. So can I still use it? Or should I just cut it from the system? Properly of coarse.

Now I do have questions about this part but before I ask them are there ANY pins that i'm not gonna use?

This man is gonna get it done. He will hook the wires up to his own nipples then to your car just to make sure the voltage is right......

 

This is ALL you need to hook up!

 

you do not need the bypass as you don't have a chip key return that
1. to get the trunk release to work your going to need a relay setup
2. your alarm is going to need to be set in negative trigger mode for everything
3.arm disarm is going to need to be programmed to double pulse disarm for the factory system

remove any wires from the alarm harness you don't need I sugest going to radio shack and get a pin extractor and and remove the complete wire just incase you use it later on its a $5 investment
there should be an acc plug on the alarm module to plug the prox into if not your going to need to hard wire it in to a secondary trigger wire

Well it came with the alarm so I might as well sell it or keep it just because. Can I cut the immobilizer connection the wire the proximity connection use the already existing wire?

3) most alarms can be programmed to send a double pulse..
i just did an install on my max and the unit i got wasnt able to be set.. so you may need to find a "pulse generator" you can buy them online cheap.. just a few wires in between and good to go

2) and a neg signal vs a positive signal for the locks to unlock-

 

Most alarms are reversable

 

Ok I think I know what you mean, I believe I can program my alarm to send a double pulse...

Yeah man great work, its always better to do it yourself.

I have been to seriously three different alarm shops all with good or "good" reputations and they all did half assed jobs. I mean sure it works, but each time i went back in to check the solder job and crimps. i found wires that literally just slid out of a crimp with a slight pull and solder that a five year old can do better. Maybe i am being too tough but I think if they are gonna charge you like half a months wage to do some crimping and soldering, it should look pro. Ughhhhhhhhhh
