Weird. They have an O2 sensor that fits my 98 I30 but not one for a 98 Maxima?

Yeah that's kinda strange. Doesn't list my 99 maxima GLE either. Hopefully it fits. Rockauto has the same part number 24018 and it says it fits my vehicle so hopefully there are no issues.

24018 should fit all 95 to 99's unless i'm missing something here? and he's got a boatload of them, so just look at other items for sale.

UPDATE: my 02 sensor came dead in the box after clearing the code 3 times i'm still getting the p0130 code. he's out of the 02 sensors and wants me to send mine back for a refund. he says i should look for a different ground wire and re-route it and it should fix the problem....F U!!!

That's what I was hinting at when his lookup chart could find an O2 for a 98 I30 but not a 98 Maxima. Same exact car but the lookup table failed that simple test.

I just replaced bank2 O2 sensor with a $23 eBay Bosh O2 sensor couple of weeks ago, is NGK O2 sensor better than Bosh one?

typically yes, but if it works then who cares? you got a link for that Bosch one?? really don't want to pony up 60.00+ after i hooked everybody up in here like a dumba$$ instead of keeping that deal to myself....

Found some 24018's here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BULK-NEW-NTK...7dbb7e&vxp=mtr

But I noticed something. When you look at the compatibility chart on that ebay page and hover your mouse over the Maxima rows, you'll see the 97 and 96 say rear of conv, which leads me to believe they are for the downstream, not upstream. And the 95 says front of conv.

But when you go to RockAuto, under a 96 Maxima, it says that 24018 was replaced with part number 24525 which is labeled for upstream right and left, which leads me to believe that the 24018 were intended for the upstream too and are simply a discontinued part number.

So. Effing. Confused.

Then when I look at other 4th gen Maxima years on the RockAuto website I get even more confused.

Ah. I think my '96' Maxima is 'technically' a 95 because the VIN label says 'DATE 11/95' which I figure is the month of completion by the manufacturer....so maybe I fall under the 95 Maxima category on that ebay page. Then again maybe not. At least I know now what my car is when faced with the 'To 6/96' and 'From 6/96' dilemma....I think....

I'm a 'To 6/96', right?! Right?! This is so much fun trying to figure this crap out...NOT.

And I figure it's probably because of the actual availability-to-consumer date or whatever you wanna call it, but seriously, still.......why they gotta call a damn 11/95 dated Maxima a freakin 96 model??? :P

The NTK part numbers I've seen for a 1995 model are:

24525 - Upstream
24024 - Downstream

www.ngksparkplugs.com and www.ngksparkplugs.com show the same part numbers for a 1995 model.

I've only used NGK/NTK on Nissan products. I do use Bosch on Ford and GM without issue.

I have also heard from more than one source that NGK, being a Japanese company, is what you want on Japanese cars, and Bosch, being a European company, is the way to go for European cars and I guess American too.

So I called NGK tech support and they confirmed that 24018 and 24525 are the same part. The 24525 # replaced the 24018 # at some point just for cataloguing purposes.

*sigh of relief*
