power antenna question
My power antenna no longer works. When the radio is turned on I can hear the motor from the antenna working and when I shut the car off I can hear the motor working but the antenna no longer goes up or down. I tried greasing it but its shot. Is there any way to disconnect it so that its no longer activated when the radio turns on and off? Its in the up position now which is perfect.

The signal wire to the motor is part of the pin out on the head unit. You would probably be better off cutting the wire at the motor if you didn't want the motor to run anymore. But consider this. The next automatic carwash you go through your antenna will get destroyed if left in the position.
My advise is to replace the mast assembly. Its pretty easy to do. Most likely your plastic track has broken or is worn out and is not positively engaging with the drive gear.

For me, it was a day of saturating with WD-40 and PB Blaster, then pulling on the last metal mast piece (rest all popped out) using 9-inch long nose vice grips while having the antenna motor assembly secured in a bench vice.
Pretty sure some non-essential pieces of plastic were broken during my replacement, but it's still working beautifully till this day
