hit a pothole while auto was changing gear
and it sounded like the trans mis-shifted and i skipped a gear. seems ok visually, don't know if my alignment is off or not. it felt ok coming home, but something sounds like its clunking, only on turns. had that issue before, wondering what could've broke, tie rod, end link, strut? ideas on what to check here, thanks

I'm gonna throw some possibilities out there as I'm not seeing adequate information.
is it constantly making this noise when you turn? in other words can you make it make that noise whenever you want? if yes, sound like cv axle or strut bearing.
if it only happened when you hit that bump I wouldn't worry about it. it was probably some sort of "glitch" from that bump. imagine if you were running and stepped into a pot hole you didn't see lol

On my '99 se auto I heard a clunking noise when turned full especially on an incline. But I also had it acting as if though it was stuck in a high gear when driving off from a stop. It blew a spider pin out the case one day. Car still drove home. I have a "new" rebuilt auto trans in that '99se, lmk if you need it and if your car isn't rusted away a.k.a. easy to work on then I'll help you replace it.
