It looks like the upper intake manifold gasket is swelling and squeezing out.

Looks like the nipple where your vacuum hose should be on the manifold. How's the car running?

Cars been running ok, got a coil error yesterday, but drove fine. Can someone trace where their hose goes from there for me? The ec50 page on the fsm is as close as I can get but it's not really all that helpful.

Ec26 shows a fuel pressure regulator kinda in that area...I'll check it out

Edit nope. Fps is on drivers side. Sigh...

so i looked at my car this evening, its just a peg. if you look at the end it's a solid piece, it is there to limit movement of the adjacent flip flopper thing (should be resting on another peg toward the front of the car when car is off, i didn't turn it on to see what happens then). the worn or discolored part is where the flip flopper rests when the engine does something

i apologize in advance if this explanation was too technical
