Steering issues

Hey there new to the forum.
I have a 2012 maxima that has been experiencing tight steering at slow speeds. I've had the power steering pump checked and the fluid levels and both were fine. I've experienced the tight steering 3 times in the past 2 days. The first time I took it to a shop to have the pump looked at and after coming off of the rack the steering was back to normal. The second time the problem seemed to go away after driving it about 10 mi at speed. The final time it was still tough after driving it 10 mi, but as soon as I went over the bump in my driveway the steering was back to normal. I am at a loss for what this could be and would really like to avoid paying Nissan's costly "diagnostic" fee. I do know I need a new strut on the RH side but I do not think this could be related, then again I'm no expert.

Welcome to the forum.

Could be a bad connection electrically.

Check out the steering control, STC, section of the FSM for your model year. It should at least give you an idea of how the system works.

Thank you for the reply, I guess I would need to take it to the Nissan house to have them diagnose that
