Steering Wheel Control Wiring Layout:

Wire A:
The Mode, Up, and Volume Up all connect to one wire.
The Mode button is a direct connect and does not use a resistor.
The Up button passes through a 150 ohm resistor.
The Volume Up button passes through a 605 ohm resistor.

Wire B:
The Down and Volume Down all connect to one wire (Wire B).
The Down button passes through a 159 ohm resistor.
The Volume Down button passes through a 606 ohm resistor.

Wire C:
The Ground is connected to one wire (Wire C).
The Ground is a direct connect and does not use a resistor.

Wire D:
The Trip button is connected to one wire (Wire D).
The Trip button is a direct connect and does not use a resistor.

The wires connect from the switch to the steering wheel via a 4 pin plug:
Wire A is Pin 1
Wire B is Pin 2
Wire C is Pin 3
Wire D is Pin 4

They then join the cruise control and horn switch just before the spiral cable:
Wire A is Pin 14
Wire B is Pin 15
Wire C is Pin 16
Wire D is Pin 19

Once they go through the spiral cable, they connect to the vehicle's main harness:
Wire A is Pin 34 (Red)
Wire B is Pin 33 (Blue with Yellow Stripe)
Wire C is Pin 32 (Brown with White Stripe)
Wire D is Pin 25 (Green with Red Stripe)

They go through the main harness to the 3rd connector on the back of the radio. They connect via a 16 pin connector:

Wire A is Pin 26 (Red)
Wire B is Pin 27 (Blue with Yellow Stripe)
Wire C is Pin 29 (Brown with White Stripe)
Wire D is Pin 63 (Green with Red Stripe) of the Combination Meter

***********************************************

Note:
1) Pin 22 (Red with Black Stripe) on the back of the Radio also goes to the Combination Meter.
2) These are the wiring color codes directly from the Nissan ESM for the 2002 model Maxima.
