well it's offical. modding cars SUCKS!
tell me what the point is of spending 211 dollars on an Intake to actually be SLOWER!
as you can tell i went to the track tonight. Before i was frustrated because i couldn't break into the 14's. my best timeslip so far went like this.

R/T .819
60' 2.353
330 6.363
1/8 9.759
MPH 72.00
1000 12.703
1/4 15.194
MPH 90.24

Was so frustrated that i wasn't into the 14's. But i learned our track was at 2700' above sea level and I delt with it. And everyone told me to get an Intake and i'll be into the 14's for sure. So i bought the PR CAI and installed with with problems but got all the bugs out. Went to the track tonight and got 3 runs. My worst was a 15.4 with a bad launch and a 2.5 60' time.

but my last run of the night goes like this.

R/T .663
60' 2.306
330 6.412
1/8 9.815
MPH 72.01
1000 12.766
1/4 15.251
MPH 90.88

that was the last run for me the temperature was about 72 degrees with about a 5mph head wind.

now the FIRST run of the day i had just gotten there and been there maybe 15 minutes

.813
2.348
6.430
9.811
72.52
12.736
15.201
91.72

I jsut don't get it. I had a better launch but it just seems to fall flat on it's face and it had sat for about an hour between runs. But my first run while the car was still hot was my fastest. I'm damn near tempted to put my stock intake on. I'm going to convert it back to Hybrid and see if it is still killing my Lowend like it did lasttime we think we had a vaccumm leak. And run it at the track next time setup for Hybrid, and i may change it back to CAI at the track if it's worse. This really kills the mod bug badly when you spend money and you actually DON"T get faster.
That seems to happen to me ALOT!

List your complete time slip on that previous 14 second run. Also how did the weather compare? Barometer, humidity and temperature? A good comparison check is on this site: http://xs-fx.com/da/ws.htm

Plug in the numbers and compare 60' times and mph at end of 1/4. Maybe this is the case on the intake systems where we pull in hot under hood air.

this is why i say don't get CAI's they are ok for around town but they restrict your top end too much, they aren't for racing. if you want the best track times get a Hybrid

Weather can play a big factor in your times. Also check if there are any leaks. I complained to Steve how his midsection made my car seem weeker, but it was due to the stupid shop not installing it right.

wheel spin doesnt seem to be a problem according to your slips........try taking the bottom part of the cai off and attach the filter to the mid pipe.........and then take all the crap outta your trunk
