my 1/4 mile time!!!!

well... first i would like to say i recently bought a new 5speed maxima...
its a '96 , white, and has intake and a y-pipe ( which i put in ).
well enought of that ... i took it to englishtown racetrack and ran a 15.2 in the 1/4 mile... what do you guys think?... i had a total of three runs...

1st run=16.1 missed third gear
2nd run= 15.5 (granny shifted)
3rd run=15.2 nailed every gear ... but not my best

i really like this car and is ALOT faster than i thought... compared to my old car... honda civic ... ( RICER CAR ) lol...

That's great, I'm sure your times will improve as you get to the track more often, as well as get a better feel for your car. I can't wait to get to the track myself, and see what I can pull.

It's a good time but you gotta get into the 14's before anyone will make a big deal about it.

What were you launching at? And while we're getting technical, how about temperature, altitude, etc? Tires? If you want to know if you can break 14's, which you should easily be able to do, first post some more details, and then go out and practice practice practice!

btw not everyone on here isn't a ****, so watch out

Not a doubt in my mind, as long is your car is running good, you are running the highest available grade gas, (91 or better) and you have tires that aren't worn to crap.

If you drop your 60's you will be in the 14's but as you get better at shifting and launching. You will live in the land of 14.

something is definetely not right here.
with a R/T and 60ft. like that you should be hitting a 9.7-9.8 1/8 mi.
knock sensor?????
seems probable because the first 1/8 is where you would be in the "dead zone" on the rpm band if the knock sensor is bad.

That's an excellent R/T time, how'd you manage that? .192???

I thought a really good (excellent time) was .500?

.500 is a perfect r/t, but at some tracks they have it set to where .000 is perfect... At my track I got a .137 r/t and my friend with a mustang got a .076 r/t...

my best reaction time so far was a .545 (on the true scale of .500 being perfect, i must post it, because i am proud (i also pulled a 2.16 60 ft on street tires, front drive, and with a 4 banger, a honda accord)

I doubt it's a knock sensor. The entire rev range is a dead zone with a bad KS and he'd be lucky to break into the 15's at all. Just needs practice I think.

He might be taking it to redline. That's a nono without MEVI and that might (i said might) explain his low trap speeds.
