2000 mustang GT
2000 mustang GT
Hey i have a 96 maxima, with warpspeed y-pipe and hi-flo cat along with a frankencar hai. what would i need to do to my car to beat a stock 2000 mustang GT in the 1/4 mile? thanks for your opinions
If he's an auto, go in the timeslip forum and look at 1995-1999 autos that are running mid to high 14's and see what kind of mods they have. This is doable with all of the bolt-ons and good driving.
If he's a manual, do the same thing only look at people running 14 flat. Pretty much you'll need boost.

NOS would be a guaranteed win (if he's stock). I've raced a 2000+ GT with my auto 2k2 and beat him by a tad, but the kids drivin werent real good drivers. You'd need every bolt on, weight reduction (remove seats, etc) and maybe light wheels. Those GT's are pretty fast, least the newer ones are
YIKES !, well i dont really know, but I would say you would need every NA mod for the 4th gen, massive weight reduction, a great/perfect run on your end and somekind of screwup on his. and you would need to be in a 5 speed.
or turbo or nitrous !
more factors of course but in general i think we need every mod available to keep it from getting ugly !

I went toe to toe with a red 99+ GT 5 speed this afternoon on the "strip". We went from a 10mph roll and he got a 1/2 car jump and kept it to 80mph when we shut down. I had a nice full tank of gas and everything in my car. I could have owned I'm if I had my track setup , YO!!!!

I went head to head with a 98 gt at the track the other day. His 1/8 mile trap was 3mph quicker than mine but I got there quicker and beat him at the 1/4 by .3 seconds. My max is auto and bone stock. The car that gave me the most trouble that night was a ford lighting
All the Mustangs that were at the track yesterday were running in the low 14's to mid 14's except for the ones that were modded out. The fastest stock Stang I saw was running 14.1s, and a modded 87-89 red Mustang ran a 14.01 against Tony in his 350Z. I ran faster than every normal Mustang out there. The problem is that once they start to do any mods, were gonna get smoked. You would need to borrow Requin6's car for that. He will probably be in the 12's next month. I think the best way for you to catch a Stang is probably a nitrous kit. A 50 shot is very safe on our cars, and pretty cheap compared to turbo or SC. Do a few more bolt on's, and then get a little laughing gas and have some fun.
