RPM Bands for 4th Gen Automatic
RPM Bands for 4th Gen Automatic
Does anyone know where I can find a link to this information? I'm trying to find out where the Stock ECU is supposed to downshift. 3rd Gear O/D off - 6000RPM How about you?

This is all I have on it.
Hey guys, thanks for the replies. After reading the 'crap' (a.k.a. incoherent) message I posted I realize I should not write when I'm tired. I really wish I had some good "stuff" I'd sell it and buy everyone SCs for their Maximas or force a factory to make 95/96 red clears!!!
I'm going to try to explain myself and apologize ahead of time because I KNOW I LACK THE PROPER RACING/DRIVING terminology.
At the time, I was breaking in my car after purchasing it from my grandmother at 64000km. I floored the car for the first time in it's history and the auto shifted gears (WOT) 3-4 at about 5800RPM. After driving it like I stole it for two weeks, I noticed the same shift was occurring at a shade above 6000RPM WOT.
Call BS, but I did notice the change and wish I had video. I did my research and came across your post (Jime) with the same OEM looking chart so I thought there was something similar for the WOT 'shifting' point?
Curiousity got the better of me and I wrote this thread - if the ECU can learn my driving habits and go up 200 RPM - how far can it go without JWT intervention and what are other .org spirited drivers capable of?
Well my long-term test results show that for as hard as I try to drive the car, I can't get it past 6100RPM
If this helps with any of you with the understanding of my situation, please post your insight. If not, we'll give it a week and then MR. MOD PLEASE DELETE THIS THREAD. Thanks in advance.

If you're going about 33-35 mph, it will most likely go up to 6.3k if it even goes down to 1st. , but the rev limtier is there to stay at about 6.5k+/-100rpm. .
Shift manually and you can get it up higher to about 6.5k, but w/o a MEVI, is pretty useless as the U.S. VQ's power band dies off at about 5.2-5.5k.
