i jus got new tires continental (225 55 16) and its cold now so what kind of times i would be getting? is it going to help cause i got wider tires?

Cold....what is cold? Hot...what is hot? I pulled my best 60' on the worst all season skinny tires you could buy. It's about your driving more than the tires.

Too many variables and Mikes right about how you drive it.

Usually, not always as I satted earlier about variables, cars engines generally run weaker when it's hot, but have better traction and run better when cold but have worse traction.

Hot and cold are far too vague terms.

And also, keep the tire pressure the same for both runs to make an even as possible comparison.

Also changing tire pressure will make more difference for these two tire choices. The new tires are taller too, you should have gone with 225/50/16 to keep the same tire circumference.
