New PB 13.77@98.47!!!

Track opened this weekend so I got two runs in. Bounced off the rev limiter on the first run and got a 14.0 at 97.8. Both runs are all motor on street tires.

Second Run
60 - 2.122
330 - 5.829
1/8 - 8.874
MPH - 80.86
1000 - 11.520
1/4 - 13.778
MPH - 98.47

Trap is low but I think it may have to do with the smaller tires (225/45/17).

Hoping for a 13.6 before summer

Thats a pretty higher 8th trap for the 1/4 trap. Nice 60' too. Nice time.

Good run, but to only gain 17 1/2 mph in the second 1/8th is suspect.

that is a low trap speed for a 13.7, when i was running straight juice with a 60 shot i ran a 14.6 @ 98mph on 17 in rims. but its still good numbers otherwise.

Its the gearing of the Auto. It pulls hard off the line, but when crossing the 1/4 marker its in a dead spot in 3rd gear. My car would do the same thing from time to time. Erik was this full weight also?

i know that spot being a auto owner too. that explains a lot. he must of sprayed hard off the line.

Mods: K&N Cone, SR20's Manifold, Hotshot Headers, CM Straight Pipe, 2.5 Inch Exhaust, VB Mod, TS ECU, SAFCII.

I doubt there is a power loss, I will have bigger tires on next time I go, lets see what that does.

WHat weight reduction did you do? Hows that IM work for the autos, seems as if though it may help with the higher rev limit, and also the auto has longer gears so maybe that could help too. I'm just relating this to 4g with VIs compared to their 5spd counterparts, as the auto seemd to benefit a little more due to the longer gearsBTW, how did the IM feel compared to the stock unit? As far as tunig the SAFCII< what changes(a/f) were made and where, and from those changes what gains were made?

now those numbers sound good. the car probably shifted early in your final gear causing the trap speed lost. i would of looked for a 100+ for a 13.7 run.

If I remember well, he gained 20 mph in the second 1/8th on that 13.81 run.

Removed the spare, jack and front seat removed. IM is working great from what I can tell. As far as the SAFC I leaned mine out to bring the AF ratio to about 13.5:1 throught the rpm range. On the dyno it showed no gains.

And yes my 13.81 @ 100.5 had a 20mph increase in the last 1/8.

When are you going to try slicks? If you cut say, .25 off your 60' (say, 1.87 instead of 2.12), that should give you about half a second in the 1/4 mile, something in the 13.3-13.2 range.

With the stock stall you are lucky to get a 1.99. I made 50+ passes on slicks with my 02 and never got better than an 2.02 NA.

Matt I did get a 1.99 but it took about 135 runs and out of that I did it 3 times so you are right. 2.0x is about the best without a little juice. With a 35 shot I can get a high 1.7.

Slicks don't help out near as much N/A, with me it was around .2 and mph was in the 102-103 area.

Ran a 13.8 at the beginning of the year but never tried it since. Not enough consistency for racing, thats why so many runs, only did 1 test and tune all year. Its too easy to brake street loose if and when track conditions change.

This year I have approx 25 race days coming up, last year was only 13 so even more runs. Hope it holds together until the lease runs out.

Oh right he's auto. I hope my 5-speed is good for 1.8's. I don't want to launch too hard fear of breaking something, which is why I bought the clutchnet (supposedly catches gradually). I know Mardi goes 1.71 with stock axels, but he has a built transsmission, mine is stock.

Other than Jime and Mardi, are there any others who have gotten 1.7's? Most boosted guys don't seem to be into drag racing too much (all I see are 13-second runs at 110 mph ).
